It is primordial that you pick a size that fits your child properly. It might be tempting to buy a size slightly bigger to get more years out of it. However, if the bike is too big, there is a risk that your child cannot reach the handlebars or operate the brakes making it dangerous. A wrong size bike can ruin your child’s cycling experience and put him off cycling altogether.

What is the difference between a kid’s bike and an adult bike?
Where some children might be big enough to go for an adult’s bike, we’d recommend you stick with a bigger kid’s model until your child is at least 12years old. Kid’s bikes have a simpler gear system and adult bikes tend to be too complex for children. You might end up having to service the bike more than you’d wish to.
