If you are cycling on rough muddy trails, on busy city roads or country roads, you know the importance of bicycle mudguards. Not only keeping you dry and preventing the dreaded mud trail on your back, bike fenders deflects grit away from moving components and helps keep you dry.
Carrying leading brands like SKS, Tortec and Crud, we offer a wide selection of sizes and shapes. When choosing a bike mudguard, you should take into account the clearance (distance between your frame and wheels) and if your frame as eyelets design to fit full-length mudguards (depending on clearance).
Full Length Mudguards
Offering the best protection for the rider, the bike and the cyclists behind him/her, they are long and cover a good portion of your wheels. Unfortunately, they do not fit every bike. Your bike needs to have eyelets on both sides of the front fork and both side of the rear dropouts. Your frame also needs to have enough clearance to fit them in. Sturdy, the full-length fenders are perfect to commute around the busy city roads.
If you don't want a semi-permanent solution or the full-length mudguards simply don't fit your bike, then the clip-on mudguards are something you should look at. Easy to fit, clip-ons usually attach with clips, straps or even rubber bands. Shorter than the full-length fenders, they don't offer as much protection from the spray but they also weigh a lot less which makes it a preferred road mudguard for the speedy group cyclist. However, some road bike with limited clearance and/or with disc brakes might not be able to use them.
Mountain Bike Mudguards
Not exclusively designed for mountain bikes despite their name, MTB mudguards will fit pretty much any bike. These mudguards don't sit as close to the wheels and because of this, don't tend to get clogged with mud like traditional mudguards would. The front mudguards attaches to the down tube while the rear one attaches to the seat post. Removable in seconds, they are much easier to mount than the two types mentioned above.
Ass Saver Mudguards
Incredibly simple, this rear mudguard is a piece of pliable plastic which sits under your saddle and clips on the rails. This offers a basic protection at a low cost and is super light.
