Bicycle side stands are very useful when you frequently stop and don't want to have to drop your bike on the floor or find a wall to prop it onto. If it adds weight and is a little bulky, a kick stand is still something one should consider if commuting, cycling to the shops or regularly having coffee/picture stops on leisure rides. If you are touring this can also become a very handy feature on your bike when it is heavily loaded with bags.
We also recommend kickstands for kids bikes. Kids tend to stop often to play and a kickstand will prevent them from throwing the bike on the floor and damaging components and the frame.
There is a couple of sizes and options for the kickstands and most of them will require a mount or a strong metal bike frame to be fitted onto your bike.
